Angelina Jolie recently provided a rare look into her children’s career paths, making it clear that she doesn’t anticipate her six kids stepping into the Hollywood spotlight. Speaking to E! News, Jolie shared that her children have other aspirations and that she fully supports their choices.
Jolie, who shares Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and twins Vivienne and Knox (16) with ex-husband Brad Pitt, spoke about their lives and their personalities during the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, Maria. When asked if she thought any of her children might follow her into acting, Jolie said, “No, I think they’re especially shy, very private people. And they want to be private.”
Though Jolie’s children may not be interested in acting, some are gaining experience behind the scenes. Both Maddox and Pax have joined Jolie on her projects, including Maria, directed by Pablo Larraín, where they assisted as part of the film’s production team. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie shared her pride in their contributions, saying, “Mad and Pax were on this one doing AD [assistant directing] work. They’ve done that quite a few times, and I think that’s good for them.”
Jolie’s comments highlight her encouragement for her children to pursue their own unique paths. Whether they choose to stay within the industry in supportive roles or branch out into other fields, Jolie’s message is clear—her priority is their happiness and privacy, away from the pressures of the Hollywood spotlight.
