Angelina Jolie recently shared that her six children have no interest in following in her footsteps as an actress, revealing during a panel at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 5th that they aren’t drawn to her glamorous career in film.
While the 49-year-old actress has long been involved in the entertainment industry, she explained that none of her children share her enthusiasm for movies. “No. I don’t know, that’s not my doing,” Jolie admitted. “I always wanted them to be around film because I wanted them to know it’s such a wonderful family, to be creative, to be an artist, but they’re not interested.”

Jolie further explained that her children, particularly her daughter Shiloh, dislike the celebrity aspect of her career. “They really don’t like any of the celebrity part of it, especially Shiloh hates it,” the Maleficent star shared. “In a very healthy way, they don’t… it’s not a normal thing. It’s a silly thing, really.”
Although her children aren’t interested in becoming actors, Jolie said they have explored other artistic outlets. “Yes, they’ve been on set with me,” she added. “And some of them dance, some of them paint, some of them love theater, but none of them are dying to be on screen.”
As a mother, Jolie prioritizes giving her children the freedom to discover their own paths. “I hope I’m giving them space to figure out who they actually are and something that they want to live for that’s authentic to them so it holds in their life,” she said.
Jolie’s children—Maddox (23), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (18), and twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline(16)—continue to develop their own identities, far from the spotlight that their famous mother is accustomed to. Despite not pursuing careers in film, Jolie’s children are each finding their own creative outlets, showing that their passions lie beyond the world of acting.
