Hollywood icon Brad Pitt is finally living out one of his lifelong ambitions—starring in a racing film. The two-time Academy Award winner is set to lead “F1: The Movie,” a high-speed sports drama that has been years in the making.
During a press conference in Mexico City on June 10, Pitt opened up about his deep-rooted passion for motorsport and his persistent efforts to bring a racing project to life.
“It was just a dream come true,” Pitt shared, reflecting on his long-standing desire to take on a role in a racing-themed film. “I’ve been trying to do a racing film for literally decades,” he admitted.
Although the actor has explored various concepts involving both motorcycles and cars, nothing came to fruition—until now. Pitt expressed profound appreciation for finally seeing his vision realized, particularly under the direction of Joseph Kosinski.
The “Fight Club” star highlighted the unique filmmaking approach taken by Kosinski, praising the director’s decision to embed the cast directly within the real Formula 1 season.
“It was a no-brainer when Joe brought this bold idea to us—actually placing us in the cars, among the real teams and drivers. It was an extraordinary experience,” said Pitt.
Produced with full cooperation from F1 teams and drivers, the movie promises an immersive, adrenaline-filled cinematic journey that blends authentic race sequences with dramatic storytelling.
