BTS leader RM, also known as Kim Nam-joon, has caused a stir among fans after a comment he made during a lighthearted social media exchange with bandmate J-Hope raised concerns about his mental health.

During a conversation on Instagram, J-Hope asked RM about his military discharge date. RM responded with, “I can be discharged from the military,” sparking an outpouring of worry from fans who are concerned about his well-being during his time in mandatory service.

While the comment was made in jest, many fans expressed deep concern for RM, with one fan commenting, “It must truly be absolutely horrible for him.” Others were equally anxious, with one writing, “Ok, but in all seriousness, I really do worry about his mental health in there. Like my goodness…”

Some fans referenced RM’s previous openness about his mental health struggles, with one fan saying, “Breaks my heart how many times Joon has shown he’s unhappy there,” and another adding, “I’m honestly worrying about him a little. I hope he’s been taking care of himself and his mental health properly.”

RM, who is currently serving his mandatory military duty, is expected to be discharged in June 2025. Meanwhile, J-Hope, who completed his service earlier, was discharged on October 18, 2024. As the fans continue to express their love and concern for RM, they are hoping he is being well-cared-for during this challenging period.

Despite the playful nature of his comment, fans are rallying behind RM, offering support and encouragement as he continues his military service.
