In a recent interview with television presenter Zane Lowe, BTS’ Jungkook opened up about the cringe-worthy moments from the early days of his music career. The youngest member of the globally acclaimed South Korean boy band admitted to playfully avoiding revisiting footage from the initial stages of their musical journey.
Reflecting on the past, Jungkook humorously shared, “Ah… it’s been more than 10 years now, my memories are a bit sketchy, but I would say we were not that cool.” Despite seeing the other members as cool at the time, he confessed, “Honestly, I still can’t watch the footage from when we first debuted, or even from a few years later; it makes me feel cringe and embarrassed.”
During the interview, Jungkook also discussed the impact of the absence of his fellow group members on his solo music journey. He revealed that the void became notably apparent when he was in the green room, alone on stage, or sharing meals with the staff.
“When I was in the green room or alone on stage, or even while having meals with the staff, the absence of their presence next to me became so apparent,” shared the Seven singer.
Last year, Jungkook and other BTS members announced a hiatus to fulfill their mandatory military service. While Jungkook, RM, Taehyung, and Jimin focus on their solo careers, J-Hope, Jin, and Suga undergo military training. Fans eagerly anticipate the full BTS group’s reunion, projected to take place in 2025.
