As BTS members brace themselves for the commencement of their military duties, V, also known as Kim Taehyung, surprised fans with a bold and transformative new look, fulfilling a personal desire he had harbored for quite some time.
Taking to his Instagram Story on Sunday, V shared glimpses of his freshly buzzed haircut, expressing that this particular style had long been a dream of his. The initial image showcased V in an orange leather jacket, a blue scarf, and trendy shades, accompanied by the caption “D-1,” signaling the countdown to his official entry into the military.
In a subsequent photo, V captivated fans as he stared at an image on a massive screen, accompanied by a Korean caption translated by allkpop, stating, “It was my dream: sunglasses with a shaved head… I wanted to try it out someday. It turned out well [Victory sign emoji].”
Not only did V share his bold new appearance, but he also offered a glimpse of the farewell cake presented to him by CELINE, where he currently serves as the global ambassador. The cake featured a touching Korean inscription, “WE! WILL! WAIT! FOR! YOU! Kim Celine, Borahae.”
As V and RM, another member of BTS, prepare to embark on their military service, RM is expected to begin basic training at the New Recruit Training Center in Nonsan on December 11. Following this, both V and RM will serve as active-duty soldiers for a duration of 18 months.
