Brendan Fraser, known for his roles in blockbuster hits such as “The Mummy” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” revealed in a recent interview that he currently has no work despite winning an Oscar. The 54-year-old actor shared the news during an interview with journalist Hannah Storm at the Greenwich International Film Festival’s award ceremony.
“At the moment, I don’t have anything – I’m really being picky right now,” Fraser said. He went on to joke about having to “pick up a picket sign” after reading that a possible Writers Guild of America strike might be coming, adding that it might be a long summer.
Despite his current lack of work, Fraser shared his excitement for his role in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film, “Killers of the Flower Moon.” “I will tell you that I’m excited to see it myself,” he said. “We were working in really hot weather in Oklahoma, and I can’t oversell my participation in this film because it’s epic. There are so many actors in this movie when you see it. I’ll arrive for a scene or two at the end.”
Fraser has been in the film industry for over three decades and has delivered memorable performances in various films. He received critical acclaim for his role in “Gods and Monsters” and was recently recognized with the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in “No Sudden Move” at the Greenwich International Film Festival.
Fans have been eagerly waiting to see more of Fraser on the big screen, and it remains to be seen what his next project will be. In the meantime, Fraser seems content to take his time and wait for the right roles to come his way.
