Cardi B attended the Met Gala 2024 at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday astonishingly in a huge black ball gown, with eight people around beside her to carry the dress up the museum’s steps.
The heads-turning outfit showed dramatic elegance with a train, with the 31-year-old rapper accessorizing her look with jewelry and beehive-style stairs.
Cardi has attended the red carpet in the past four times, in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023.
The rapper had disclosed her preferences for her outfit earlier this year to The Hollywood Reporter, which were to “be Iconic.”
“We’re always thinking ahead. I feel like the Met Gala is almost like going to the GRAMMYs. It’s very nerve-racking, and even though we make it look so easy, we really be so nervous,” she added. “We always try to make sure that everything goes right, that everything be iconic.”
“We want everything to be iconic,” Cardi continued. “I know people sometimes be like, ‘Oh, it’s not about who is there and who is not,’ but it’s like, no, you need to remember us forever.”
