Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, shared her strong opinion about their star tight end Travis Kelce’s romance with Taylor Swift during an interview on OutKick the Morning.
Asked by host Charly Arnolt about the Chiefs’ increased coverage in light of the new romance, Hunt unequivocally threw her support behind the couple.
“She is wonderful, beautiful, brilliant, all of the things,” Hunt told Arnold.
“It’s been so wonderful having her come to Chiefs games…We’re so happy and excited for them (Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce).”
Hunt continued: “I think we’re all so excited to see two such phenomenal people happy. I mean, it’s so easy for us to cheer for and for the entire world to cheer for because they’re wonderful for each other, and it’s just been so fun to watch this love story unfold. So, that’s just been so special to see how happy they are.”
Hunt feels that the coverage of Swift and Kelce has only benefited the Chiefs. She also expressed great excitement at the number of female fans the coverage has earned the NFL.
“To have so many young, especially female, fans watching football, interested in football, and maybe considering playing flag football and also cheering for the Chiefs” is a wonderful result, Hunt said.
“Whatever reason you’re there for,” Hunt told fans, “I’m glad you’re there and I’m glad you’re getting to experience the game I fell in love with when I was little.”
The media’s obsession with Kelce and Swift has prompted criticism from NFL fans and commentators. Earlier this week, Undisputed host Skip Bayless called the repeated cutaways to Swift during Chiefs games a “distraction” for both the game and the organization.
The Chiefs are set to face the Cincinnati Bengals on New Year’s Eve at Arrowhead Stadium. You can watch Hunt’s full appearance on OutKick the Morning below.
