Jenna Ortega announced that she had obtained the script for the second season of “Wednesday” while speaking at the E! red carpet pre-show.
In the upcoming season, the 21-year-old actress will be seen as Wednesday Addams again; she is also serving as producer for the show. In response to a question concerning season two of the show, the actress said that the creators are “definitely leaning into a little bit more horror.”
Jenna voiced her delight at the possibility, saying that she believes her character would benefit from “a bit of an arc” because she “never really changes” throughout the show—another “wonderful thing” about her character, in her opinion.
She went on to say that it will have some “really good one-liners”. “It’s a lot more action-packed. I think each episode will probably feel a little bit like a movie.” she added.
“Over the past few weeks, I’ve been hunted, haunted, and mimicked millions of times across the internet. It’s been pure torture. Thank you,” she says in the video.
If reports are anything to go by, then we can expect the show to release in 2025. The second season’s development was put on hold while writers’ and actors’ strikes were ongoing. Deadline revealed that “Wednesday” season two will be filmed in Ireland, with shooting scheduled to start in late April 2024, following the resolution of both strikes.
