Jimmy Buffett, famously known for his song “Margaritaville” and love of good times, passed away on September 1 at the age of 76, his near fellow reported.
Late Friday, a statement published on Buffett’s website and posted on Social media stated that Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music, and dogs. He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many, it added.
However, no cause of death was disclosed yet.
The island escapism performer, whose other famous songs include “Come Monday” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” had been hospitalized earlier this year for an unknown disease. In the process, the invariably touring singer-songwriter canceled or postponed several concerts which is a rare doing for Buffet.
Buffet, born on December 25, 1946, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, attempted to fame in the late Seventies with his seventh album Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes, and his homage to drinking and relaxing on the beach. The only Top Ten Billboard hit Buffett was to ever have, “Margaritaville” not only animated Buffett’s musical journey but generated other efforts for him over the years.
Along with a beer brand, a Sirius Satellite Radio station, a restaurant chain, retirement communities, a resort, more soundtracks that one could count in figures, and more businesses that named Buffett a billionaire, the music was partially the motivation for his 1989 bestseller Tales from Margaritaville and different novels. A regular presence on late-night TV over the decades, Buffett also embarked into acting at times. He emerged on the big screen in 2015’s Jurassic World and TV shows like Blue Bloods, and Hawaii Five-O.
On the path for several months of the year up until quite recently engaging his hardcore “Parrot Heads” fans, Buffett noticed his 2004 album “License to Chill” and 2006’s “Take the Weather With You” both placed on the top place on the pop album charts.
