Kim Kardashian suffered another wardrobe malfunction at the 2023 Met Gala, but her daughter North West was on hand to save the day. The American TV star and socialite, who famously damaged Marilyn Monroe’s iconic crystal-covered dress at the 2022 Met Gala, rocked a stunning Schiaparelli gown covered in 50,000 freshwater pearls to this year’s event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Speaking to Vogue on the red carpet, Kim revealed that she wanted to be “dripping in pearls” and was inspired by the iconic Chanel pearls. However, some of the pearls “popped on the way” to the event, and her daughter North came to the rescue by grabbing them all and putting them in her purse. Despite the wardrobe malfunction, Kim looked radiant in the pearl-covered gown.
This year’s Met Gala had an age restriction, but nine-year-old North was in attendance with her parents, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Although she didn’t walk the carpet, North was reportedly excited to attend the star-studded event.
Kim has a history of eye-catching looks at the Met Gala, including her memorable “wet look” at the 2019 event and the aforementioned Marilyn Monroe dress from last year.
