Reality TV star Kylie Jenner has been a topic of discussion for years regarding her appearance, particularly whether or not she has undergone plastic surgery. On Tuesday, the makeup mogul opened up about the “big misconception” people have about her in a recent interview with Homme Girls.
Jenner explained that she has always been a confident person, despite people’s assumptions that she has had “so much surgery” on her face. She emphasized that she “wasn’t some insecure person,” but rather wanted to make minor changes to enhance her features.
“I got lip filler, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done,” Jenner said. “I don’t regret it. But I always thought I was cute.”
Jenner has previously spoken about her use of fillers, stating in a 2015 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that she has temporary lip fillers to address her “one lip insecurity thing.” However, in 2018, she told fans on social media that she had gotten rid of all her fillers, only to later admit to Paper Magazine that she was still a “filler fan.”
“People think I fully went under the knife and completely reconstructed my face, which is completely false,” Jenner said in the interview. “They don’t understand what good hair and makeup and, like, fillers, can really do.”
Despite the constant scrutiny, Jenner maintains that her cosmetic procedures have been minor and simply a matter of personal preference. She wants to make it clear that she is comfortable and confident in her own skin and does not want to be perceived otherwise.
The conversation around celebrities and plastic surgery is complex, as people have varying opinions on whether or not it’s a personal choice or a societal pressure to maintain a certain appearance. However, Jenner’s message is clear: she has control over her own body and appearance, and wants to be recognized for her confidence and self-image.
In a world where unrealistic beauty standards are often promoted and celebrated, it’s important to acknowledge the importance of self-acceptance and self-love. While it’s understandable to want to make changes to one’s appearance, it’s equally important to do so for oneself and not for the sake of others’ expectations.
