The suspension of Liam Nissan’s Twitter account, known for its critical stance against Elon Musk, has sparked outrage among his followers, who are pointing fingers at the platform’s owner. The hashtag #FreeLiamNissan quickly gained traction as supporters rallied behind the suspended user.
One user on the platform wrote, “The Vengeance of Liam Nissan will begin. But for those upset by this we need to #FreeLiamNissan. He does good work in chasing out the parasites that use this undead site to spread hatred and misery all over.”
Another remarked, “Looks like he finally banned Liam Nissan.”
A third person wrote, “Liam Nissan finally jumped into my Replies yesterday…and he’s gone. #FreeLiamNissan. Free Speech includes disagreement, Elon Musk. X should state suspension / ban reasons.”
“Dear @elonmusk, in the spirit of free speech that you want @X to be, I ask you to reinstate Liam Nissan’s account, please,” another user commented.
This is the second instance within a month where the account, known for its comedic commentary, has faced suspension. Previously, it was temporarily suspended for allegedly violating X rules
The account gained attention when Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) engaged in an online feud with it, mistakenly believing it to be owned by Oscar-nominated actor Liam Neeson.
“Another Hollywood Actor thinking they know what’s best for Texas,” Greg Abbott replied to a post by Nissan. “Listen here Liam, make like an actor, and learn your role, and leave dealing with the border to me.”
The remained unclear why Nissan’s account has been suspended again.
