Kylie Jenner, the makeup mogul, and reality TV star, was reportedly denied entry to a Met Gala after-party in New York City on Monday night. According to an onlooker who spoke to Page Six, security shut the door on Jenner as the party was already over capacity.
The party was hosted by Richie Akiva, Doja Cat, and Diddy at the Box nightclub in downtown Manhattan. Kylie had arrived at around midnight, hoping to join her elder sister Kendall Jenner and her rumored boyfriend Bad Bunny, who were still inside the venue. However, she was unable to get past the security and ended up leaving the party early.
“She prematurely got out of her car,” the source said. “Then she decided to go home because she didn’t want to be at a crowded party. She rarely goes to clubs.”
Another source described the scene outside the nightclub as chaotic, with crowds rushing towards the door several times. It is not clear whether other guests were also denied entry to the party.
The news of Kylie’s unsuccessful attempt to attend the after-party came just a day after she made a stylish appearance at the Met Gala alongside her three-year-old daughter Stormi Webster. The event, which is one of the most important nights in the fashion calendar, saw a host of celebrities donning their most glamorous outfits on the red carpet.
In recent weeks, Kylie has been linked to a new love interest in the form of actor Timothée Chalamet. While the pair have reportedly only hung out a few times, a source told Us Weekly that Kylie is “enjoying getting to know him better and is open to seeing where things go.”
Regardless of her love life, it seems Kylie’s attempts to party with her sister and fellow A-listers were thwarted by tight security measures. Nevertheless, with her vast wealth and celebrity status, she is unlikely to be short of invites to other exclusive events in the future.
