Travis Barker shared his health update with an image on his Instagram Story in which he had a positive COVID test after he went back on tour with Blink-182 following wife Kourtney Kardashian Barker’s “urgent fetal surgery.”
The musician shared the image on Friday alongside the emojis “🤒😵🥴.”
The next performance of Blink-182 is set to take place on October 2 in Portugal at the Altice Arena. With the upcoming album of the band scheduled to be released on October 20, a new single by the band titled “One More Time” debuted on Thursday.
Travis Barker recently talked about reuniting with bandmates Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge in a video that features previews of the new album and a piece of an upcoming interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe shared to the band’s YouTube account.
He said, “Why does it take these catastrophes, like me being in a plane crash or me being sick, for our band to get back together?”
Barker added, “I always knew that the brotherhood wouldn’t ever deteriorate or wouldn’t be there. I feel like Blink is us three, and as soon as we accept that and we don’t settle for anything less than that, I just think that’s the future.”
The band stood together earlier this year when they postponed their Latin-American tour schedule due to an injury to Barker’s finger.
While sharing a post on his Instagram with a photo of him lying in a hospital bed, he said, “Thank you for all the love and prayers and understanding this week as I went into surgery.”
He explained, “It was a hard decision to make but ultimately, I couldn’t continue to play the drums without it. It was inevitable that my finger would have dislocated again without fixing the torn ligament surgically. So grateful for Dr. Shin and that my surgery was a success so that I can keep doing what I love and see you guys on tour soon🥁🤘”
