Travis Kelce chose not to attend Taylor Swift’s first Eras Tour concert in Buenos Aires on Thursday, rather showing support for his quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.
While Taylor Swift serenaded fans in Argentina, Travis attended Mahomes’ third annual Mahomies Foundation Gala, which included an auction. The foundation posted a video of Travis at the event held at The Midland Theatre in Kansas City on Instagram.
Established in 2019, Mahomes’ foundation is “dedicated to improving the lives of children through initiatives that focus on health, wellness, underserved communities and other charitable causes,” according to their website.
Travis still has a chance to visit Swift to perform in Argentina’s capital city. She is performing there on Friday and Saturday.
During a recent episode of the New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast that he co-hosts with his older brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, the two hinted at Travis going “somewhere sunny.”
“Got anything you’re looking forward to going to?” Jason, 36, asked his younger brother — who had some time off from the field thanks to a bye week after the Chiefs’ win against the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany.
The tight end responded, “I might just say f— it and just go somewhere nice, I don’t know. My skin’s getting real pale so I gotta go somewhere sunny.”
This encouraged Jason to ask if this place with sunshine happened to be “closer to the equator.”
Others appeared to agree the getaway would do the pro athlete some good.
Eli Manning told PEOPLE exclusively on Thursday, “I think the bye week is a great time to get away from football and I think that’s the idea. It is the time to rest the body, rest the mind a little bit, recharge yourself to get ready for that second half of the season.”
Swift and Travis have been spending a lot of time together since going public in mid-October.
The duo sparked dating rumors when the “Love Story” singer attended numerous Kansas City Chiefs games in September, but it wasn’t until the pair made a shock appearance on the season 49 premiere of Saturday Night Live that they sent Swifties into overdrive.
Once the show wrapped, a source told PEOPLE the two had a PDA-filled date night at an afterparty at Catch Steak.
The insider, who said the pair stayed at the party “until after 4 a.m.,” added that Travis was “touching her, putting his hand on her lower back or putting his hands on her waist and then they would do a little kiss.”
In late October, Travis and Taylor made it Instagram official — sort of.
The “You Belong With Me” songstress posed for a picture with her boyfriend while kissing him on the cheek as they stood with his teammate Mecole Hardman Jr. and his girlfriend Chariah Gordon. The sweet snap made it to social media.
Travis previously said of her coming to his games, “I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her — the friends and family.”
“It’s quickly turning more serious. They share a strong work ethic and have a huge appreciation for life and their careers, strong family bond and values,” another source told PEOPLE in late October of Travis and Swift.
