Donna Kelce, Travis Kelce’s mother, said during an appearance on the Got It From My Momma podcast that spending time with Taylor Swift still doesn’t feel real at times during Kansas City Chiefs games this season.
On Friday’s episode, Donna told host Jennifer Vickery Smith, “I feel like I’m in an alternate universe because it’s something I’ve never been involved with before.”
NFL mom added that she’s surprised that the publicity around her son’s rumored romance has yet to die down. She said the prior few weeks have been a “whirlwind,” and that there is no end in sight.
She said on the podcast, “I thought it would be over at that point, but it seems to just continue, and every week just seems to trump the week before. So it’s kind of wild, a wild ride.”
Still, Donna also said she believes it’s “pretty cool” to see some young girls taking an interest in football as a result of the 33-year-old pop star’s current appearances at games.
Donna also bringing in on the NFL hyping up Travis and Swift. (The league defended itself earlier this week after getting backlash from some fans and Travis about their focus on his rumored romance.)
Donna told Smith, “All I can tell you is that the NFL is laughing all the way to the bank. You know what I’m saying? Good for them. They’re getting the ramifications of everything.”
“I can tell you this, that they’ve told me personally that the Kelce family has done more good PR for football than they could have paid a $1 million to a PR firm,” she added.
But despite the attention encircling the NFL star and the singer, a source recently told PEOPLE that Travis and Swift are “still just getting to know each other,” adding that it’s currently “nothing too serious.”
