This devastating news was confirmed by the production company ‘Bozdag Film’ through the Twitter account that was retweeted by the official account of ‘Kurulus Osman’. While ‘Bozdag Flim’ Twitter account shared the couple’s picture and wrote, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Çağdaş Çankaya, and his musician wife, Zilan Tigris, in the earthquake disaster.”
Başımız Sağolsun, who was known as Çağdaş as the central character in the Turkish drama series Kurulus Osman, played the important role of Konya Palace soldier while his wife Zilan Tidris who was a musician, singer, and music teacher.
The last Monday’s massive earthquake caused many deaths. The death toll in Turkey-Syria has passed 41,000. While 35,418 deaths are recorded in Turkey, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that the death toll in Syria is approximately 5,800.
