Cheryl has bid an emotional farewell to Liam Payne, the father of her son Bear, during a moving funeral service held in the Home Counties on Wednesday, November 20.
The Girls Aloud star was joined by her bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, who stood by her side during the difficult day. Liam’s former One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson were also present, paying tribute to their late friend and bandmate.
The tragedy comes after Liam’s untimely passing, caused by a fall from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Argentina. Despite their separation in 2018, Cheryl had always spoken highly of Liam’s dedication to their seven-year-old son, Bear.
In a previous interview with The Telegraph, Cheryl called Liam a “great dad,” reflecting on his gentle parenting style. “He’s much softer than me. I’m the strict one; Liam isn’t. I’ll be the one saying, ‘Just one square of chocolate,’ but Bear is so good. If I get cross with him, he puts his little hands on my face and looks into my eyes to see if I’m deadly serious or just a tiny bit cross—it melts my heart,” she shared.
Cheryl and Liam’s relationship began in 2016, and the couple welcomed their son Bear in 2017. Although their romance ended a year later, Cheryl often praised Liam’s role as a father, emphasizing the love he had for their child.
The funeral marked a sorrowful yet loving goodbye to Liam, remembered not just for his musical legacy but also for his unwavering love and commitment to his family. His absence leaves a void in the lives of those who cherished him, with heartfelt tributes underscoring his impact on both his personal and professional circles.
