Chrissy Teigen is taking her first step into the world of podcasting with the debut of Self-Conscious with Chrissy Teigen, a new show that centers on wellness, mental health, and self-compassion.
The 28-year-old former model and best-selling cookbook author hopes to use the platform to help listeners tackle the challenges of negative self-talk, a topic she believes many struggle with daily. “All we do is negative self-talk all day, and I think this podcast is a beautiful hour-long release where we can do something to better ourselves and learn something,” Teigen shared in a statement.
Teigen explained that her goal for the podcast is to inspire listeners to be kinder to themselves and break free from the cycle of self-criticism. “I honestly really hope that people learn to give themselves a lot of grace,” she said. “It’s really easy to be tough on ourselves—whether it’s about not doing enough, not exercising enough, not meditating enough, or not eating well enough. We drink too much, we feel like we’re not doing it right.”
Through open conversations with a range of guests, Teigen has begun peeling back the layers of her own struggles with wellness. She expressed a hope that listeners would also gain insights into their own lives through the podcast. “Over the course of these conversations, I’ve begun to peel back the layers of challenges hindering my own well-being, and I hope listening to the podcast can do the same for listeners,” she said.
The first episode features motivational speaker Mel Robbins, who discusses the importance of giving oneself space to feel and not being burdened by others’ expectations. “Let people have the space to feel what they need to feel,” Robbins says in the preview. “The point of life is to allow yourself to live your life, and you won’t feel the full potential of your life if you hold yourself hostage trying to manage everybody else.”
Self-Conscious with Chrissy Teigen is set to debut on January 9 on Audible, with future episodes featuring prominent guests such as Glennon Doyle, Peter Attia, and Gabby Bernstein. Through this new podcast, Teigen hopes to create a space where both she and her listeners can explore the complexities of mental health and work toward a more compassionate, self-aware mindset.
