Dakota Johnson is all set to grace the big screen alongside Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans in the highly anticipated romantic comedy Materialists. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Celine Song, the film is slated for global release on June 13, 2025, and promises a fresh take on love, choices, and unexpected connections.
The story revolves around a modern-day matchmaker whose professional life becomes entangled with personal dilemmas as she’s forced to choose between the ideal partner and a chaotic ex-boyfriend. The film, backed by A24, brings together an exciting trio of talent that fans can’t wait to see on screen.

In a recent interview with Deadline, the Fifty Shades of Grey star opened up about her experience working closely with Pascal and Evans — and didn’t hold back in describing just how entertaining the shoot was.
“Chris and Pedro were wonderful,” said Johnson. “They’re both pretty funny dudes. They really make me laugh. I really make Chris laugh, which I like a lot.”
Johnson added that she already shared a friendship with The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal before filming began. “Pedro and I were friends before, so just being able to hang out all day was really fun.”
Describing the filming atmosphere, the 35-year-old actress joked, “It felt like being in a movie prison. You can’t do anything, you can’t see anybody. So, it was just so fun to have a friend there.”
Despite the long hours and isolation typical of film shoots, Dakota praised both co-stars, stating, “They’re both, I think, really wonderful in this movie.”
With a star-studded cast, a talented director, and a witty, heartfelt script, Materialists is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about rom-coms of the year.
