Deborra-Lee Furness is reportedly preparing to tell her side of the story following her high-profile divorce from Hugh Jackman. According to journalist Rob Shuter, the Australian actress has been seen in New York City meeting with a major publisher to discuss a potential memoir.
Insiders describe the book as a “bold, emotional memoir about love, identity, and starting over.”
“She was all smiles, but it looked serious,” a publishing source told Shuter. “There were sample pages, lots of notes — it had the energy of a book deal negotiation.”
Friends of Furness claim the 69-year-old actress is eager to reclaim her voice after years of being primarily recognized as Jackman’s wife.
“She spent years being known as Hugh’s wife. Now she wants to be known for her truth,” one friend revealed.
Furness filed for divorce from the 57-year-old Wolverine star in May, nearly two years after their initial separation announcement. The couple had been married since 1996 and share two adopted children, Oscar, 25, and Ava, 20.

In a candid statement to the Daily Mail, Furness reflected on the personal toll of the split, describing it as a “traumatic journey of betrayal.” She added:
“I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.”
The divorce was finalized in May, reportedly involving the division of a $387 million real estate portfolio. Shortly after, Jackman publicly introduced his new girlfriend, Broadway star Sutton Foster, making their red-carpet debut at the premiere of Song Sung Blue.
Fans are now eagerly anticipating Furness’ potential memoir, which promises a personal glimpse into her life, love, and resilience after decades in the spotlight.
