Grammy-winning artist Ed Sheeran got into the Halloween spirit in a uniquely chilling way this year. He decided to channel the malevolent doll Chucky and took it a step further by performing in this haunting guise.
Sheeran, known for his musical talents, shared his spine-tingling transformation on Instagram, revealing a series of photos in which he embraced the Chucky persona. The attention to detail was striking, as he wore a romper identical to the doll’s infamous outfit, complete with conspicuous bloodstains. What made the costume even more authentic were the long gashes and stitches adorning his face, reminiscent of the character Chucky from the second movie in the series. Maroon eye shadow heightened the eeriness of the look.
Sheeran didn’t confine his terrifying transformation to a private Halloween gathering. He took his Chucky-inspired costume to his Las Vegas show at Allegiant Stadium, where he surprised and enthralled his fans by sharing the stage with Brandon Flowers from The Killers. Together, they treated the audience to a rendition of “Mr. Brightside.”
Introducing Flowers, Sheeran remarked, “There’s this one person I want to bring out. He’s from Vegas. We’re gonna sing the song that is essentially like my country’s national anthem.”
Following the electrifying performance of “Mr. Brightside,” they continued with Sheeran’s hit song, “Castle On The Hill.”
But the night didn’t end there. Sheeran also collaborated with The Chainsmokers, and their performance included a mash-up featuring ABBA, adding a fun and unexpected twist to the show.
This particular Las Vegas show had been rescheduled from September, when it was originally canceled due to technical issues. In an Instagram post, Sheeran expressed his apologies and reassured fans that the show would be postponed to Saturday, October 28th, with all previously purchased tickets remaining valid for the rescheduled date.
Sheeran’s spine-tingling Chucky ensemble certainly added a unique and memorable dimension to the rescheduled event, leaving fans with an unforgettable experience in addition to his musical talents.
