Global music icon Ed Sheeran is once again proving his creative versatility — but this time, it’s not with a guitar in hand. The 34-year-old Grammy-winning singer has made a surprising career move by stepping into the world of visual art.
Following the release of his latest track from the album Play, a collaboration with renowned Indian playback singer Arijit Singh, Sheeran has now turned heads with an unexpected announcement: he’s launching his very first art exhibition.
The Perfect hitmaker took to Instagram to reveal that his debut art show will run from July 10 to August 1 in Soho, London. In a playful video posted to his account, Sheeran is seen enthusiastically splashing paint across large canvases, his clothes and hands covered in vibrant colors.
“So last year in between shows I was doing these paintings,” he wrote in the caption. “I love painting, more for fun and to give to friends, but this time I was encouraged to do a show of them by @damienhirst and @heni.”
Sheeran emphasized that painting has become a relaxing and fulfilling hobby when he’s not working on music. “I am by no means ‘an artist’, but I do love making art. It makes me feel great, and I love the end result,” he added.
The announcement has thrilled both art and music fans, who are eager to see a different side of the singer-songwriter. With support from contemporary art giant Damien Hirst and art platform HENI, Sheeran’s artistic debut is expected to draw major attention.
As Sheeran continues to dominate charts with his genre-blending music, this new chapter in his creative journey only strengthens his reputation as a multifaceted artist.
