Rising star Gracie Abrams has been making waves in the music world, and a major highlight of her career so far was opening for Taylor Swift during select dates of the global Eras Tour. While the experience was unforgettable, it also came with a few eye-opening realizations for the 25-year-old singer-songwriter.
In a candid new interview with Billboard, Abrams shared how touring alongside Swift helped her better understand the highs and intense pressures that come with worldwide fame.
“I really don’t have it that bad in terms of invasion of privacy,” Abrams admitted. “I feel like I learned a lot from her, obviously, but one of the biggest takeaways was just seeing how extreme it can be [for her]. It helped put my own situation into perspective.”
Despite her growing fan base and increasing public attention, Abrams expressed gratitude for still having a relatively private life. Her reflection sheds light on the often-overlooked downside of superstardom—especially for artists whose work is deeply personal.

Known for her vulnerable and emotionally resonant songwriting, Abrams was asked whether her rising fame could affect the honesty in her lyrics. Her response was clear:
“That would be so unfortunate,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to staying authentic as an artist.
Abrams also gushed about Swift’s incredible stage presence and ability to connect with enormous crowds in massive stadiums. After having the chance to perform in those spaces herself, she admitted that it sparked a dream she hadn’t previously considered.
“I could have never imagined myself admitting to that,” she said. “But having had the privilege of opening for Taylor in stadiums, I now have a real sense of what that feels like. It’s something I miss and desperately hope to earn over time.”
Currently promoting her single That’s So True, Gracie Abrams continues to carve out her own path in the music industry. With her raw honesty, grounded perspective, and drive to evolve, she’s capturing hearts while staying true to herself—just the way she likes it.
