Selena Gomez is opening up about her upcoming wedding to Benny Blanco, revealing that while they’re engaged, wedding planning is on hold as they both navigate busy schedules.
In an interview on the Today show on Friday, March 21st, the 32-year-old singer and actress discussed how she and her fiancé are enjoying their engagement period. When host Craig Melvin asked if they were now focusing on wedding plans after releasing their first collaborative album, Gomez quickly responded with a “No.”
The Only Murders in the Building star explained that their packed work schedules have delayed any thoughts of wedding planning for the time being. “I’m actually shooting season 5 of Only Murders right now. You know, he has to do some work stuff, too. To be honest, I’m just enjoying us in this moment, and yeah, then we’ll get to start the craziness,” she said.
Blanco, the music producer, jokingly added that they haven’t had time to enjoy their engagement yet due to their demanding work schedules. “Oh my God, we haven’t even had time to enjoy it. Are you kidding me? We go from this, she’s shooting Only Murders, we’re promoting the album. She was at the Oscars. It’s crazy,” he said.
While the couple may not be planning their wedding just yet, Gomez did share that when they do get around to it, they envision a “pretty casual” day, but she also admitted, “I don’t even know if we have time” this year to make it happen.
Gomez and Blanco got engaged in December 2023, and while their wedding plans remain on hold for now, the two are clearly savoring the engagement period, despite their hectic professional lives. For now, it’s all about enjoying the moment before jumping into the whirlwind of wedding preparations.
