Taylor Swift may finally be finding peace after her name was pulled from a high-profile legal dispute involving actress Blake Lively and director Justin Baldoni. However, sources suggest that the pop star’s once-close friendship with Lively has taken a serious hit — possibly beyond repair.
According to a recent Us Weekly report, Swift has chosen to stay silent publicly, but insiders reveal there’s been “radio silence” between her and Lively since the subpoena tied to the case was withdrawn. This silence marks a significant shift in their previously tight-knit bond.
The legal drama began when Baldoni’s attorneys accused Lively of attempting to pressure Swift into making a public statement of support. Legal documents alleged that Lively’s legal team hinted at the release of personal text messages between the two if Swift refused to comply.

The filing stated that Swift was urged to issue a statement backing Lively, and that if she didn’t, there was an implication that private messages would be exposed.
Lively’s attorneys quickly denied the allegations, filing a motion to have the claims removed from the court record. They described the accusations as “baseless” and “abusive.” The court ultimately sided with Lively, dismissing the claims and leading to Swift’s subpoena being retracted.
Despite this legal win, it appears the emotional toll on Swift’s personal life remains. A source close to the matter told Us Weekly that the legal back-and-forth created a rift between Swift and Lively. “Their friendship has stalled. There’s too much emotional residue to go back to the way things were,” the insider shared.
While Swift has not commented publicly, insiders say she’s relieved to be out of the legal spotlight. “She feels an immense sense of relief,” one source noted. “She’s happier, lighter, and ready to move forward.”
Earlier this month, DailyMail.com also reported that Swift feels “exploited” by the ordeal and has decided to distance herself completely from Lively.
Swift had initially been subpoenaed to testify in connection with the lawsuit involving Baldoni’s adaptation of It Ends With Us. However, her legal team swiftly dismissed any connection between Swift and the film, clarifying that she was not involved in any aspect of production.
A representative for Swift released a firm statement, saying:
“Taylor Swift never visited the set, made casting choices, gave creative input, or saw the film prior to its public release. Her only link to the movie was the licensed use of her song My Tears Ricochet.”
They also accused Baldoni’s team of using Swift’s name for “clickbait” purposes rather than focusing on the facts of the case.
With the subpoena withdrawn and the public storm quieted, Swift seems intent on moving past the situation. But whether her friendship with Blake Lively can ever return to what it once was remains uncertain.
