Former “Teen Mom” star Jenelle Evans is currently facing a concerning situation as she seeks to locate her 14-year-old son, Jace, who has reportedly run away from home.
Jace was last seen leaving school around 2:45 PM on a Tuesday afternoon. The preteen was wearing a gray sweatshirt with the inscription “Classical Charter Schools of America,” according to reports from TMZ. Authorities from the Brunswick Co. Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina, where Evans resides, have shared that Jace could also be dressed in a navy shirt. They are urging the public to immediately contact 911 with any relevant information to aid in his identification and safe return.
The situation has raised alarms, especially considering Jace’s sudden disappearance. Just the night before, Jenelle’s mother, Barbara, had a conversation with Jace, during which he “seemed totally fine,” making his reported runaway even more unexpected.
Amid her ongoing public disagreement with her husband David, Evans has shed light on the situation, explaining, “Being a mother of boys, it’s not uncommon for kids to test boundaries and rebel, just as most of us did during our own childhoods. Jace faced some trouble at school, and our response was to temporarily take away his phone, which led to his decision to leave.”
Addressing any potential connections between her son’s actions and her personal situation, Evans made it clear, “We are careful not to engage in arguments or disagreements in front of our children. Jace’s actions are those of a typical teenager who’s upset about losing his phone privileges, and it’s unrelated to any issues between me and David.”
Jenelle shares Jace with Andrew Lewis, 38. As the search for Jace continues, both Jenelle and her family are hoping for his safe return and are actively cooperating with authorities in their efforts.
