Jenna Fischer has revealed that she does not own one of The Office’s most sentimental props—the teapot Jim gave to Pam. Despite the emotional significance of the gift in the beloved sitcom, it turns out her co-star John Krasinski was the one who ended up with it.
The Story Behind the Teapot
One of the most heartwarming moments in The Office occurred in Season 2, Episode 10, during a Secret Santa exchange. Jim Halpert (played by John Krasinski) gave Pam Beesly (played by Fischer) a teapot filled with small reminders of their friendship, including a heartfelt letter confessing his feelings for her. However, Jim took back the note before she could read it, leaving fans wondering what it said.

Years later, in the show’s ninth and final season, Jim finally gave Pam the letter, bringing their love story full circle and delivering an emotional moment for longtime viewers.
John Krasinski Ended Up with the Teapot
As The Office celebrates its 20th anniversary, Fischer revealed in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that she did not take the teapot home after the show ended.
“John got the teapot! How does that make sense?” she said, surprised by the revelation.
Krasinski humorously responded, “She ratted me out! Yes, I have the teapot, which I realize is quite the memento. It actually came to me by happenstance as our incredible prop master, Phil Shea, sent me a box of props sometime after we had wrapped.”
The Emotional Note That Made Jenna Fischer Cry
In a previous episode of her Office Ladies podcast, Fischer shared another touching detail about the teapot scene. For the moment when Pam finally reads Jim’s note, Krasinski actually wrote a personal letter to Fischer, expressing what their time on The Office meant to him.
“So I’m on camera, and I open up this note that John’s written me, and I just start crying, I just start bawling,” Fischer recalled. “The first take was probably not usable.”
A Love Story That Still Captivates Fans
Although The Office ended in 2013 after nine successful seasons, Jim and Pam’s love story remains one of the most cherished TV romances of all time. Their journey from best friends to soulmates was filled with unforgettable moments, with the teapot symbolizing their deep connection.
Even two decades after The Office first premiered in 2005, the show continues to be adored by fans, proving that its heartfelt stories and unforgettable characters will always stand the test of time.
