Jennifer Garner is stepping up in a big way to help those affected by the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, demonstrating her deep commitment to humanity and making a significant impact in her community.

The 52-year-old actress, who serves as an ambassador and board member for Save the Children, has been actively volunteering to support both first responders and families devastated by the fires, which have hit especially close to home in California. Garner, who lives in the area, has been on the ground, working to ensure that those impacted by the disaster receive the help they need.

In particular, Garner has focused on supporting children who have been displaced by the fires, striving to provide “joy and normalcy” in what has been a traumatic time for them. Her efforts are aimed at giving the children a safe space to process and cope with the emotional toll of the disaster.

Speaking to NBC News, the 13 Going on 30 star explained the critical role Save the Children plays in providing disaster relief: “Save the Children did this inside of shelters for years as part of our disaster relief. I’ve witnessed it all over the country. It’s crazy that it’s in my own backyard now.”

Garner highlighted the importance of therapeutic play for children during disasters: “Therapy for them is play… This is therapy for these kids. This is exactly what they need.”

In addition to providing emotional support to the children, Garner also emphasized the importance of helping parents during this difficult time. “Everyone is just trying to give children a little bit of joy and normalcy — if that’s at all possible — and give parents the space to figure out where they’re gonna live, where their kids are gonna go to school. There’s so much work to do,” she said.

As a dedicated advocate for children’s well-being, Garner’s work is providing much-needed relief to those in her community, offering a ray of hope in the midst of the devastation caused by the fires.
