The Jonas Brothers recently shared an embarrassing yet hilarious memory involving American astronaut Buzz Aldrin, just days after being inducted into the prestigious New Jersey Hall of Fame.
The pop trio—Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas—joined legendary figures like Bruce Springsteen, Shaquille O’Neal, and Aldrin himself as part of New Jersey’s celebrated icons. But while their names now sit alongside the legendary astronaut’s, their first real-life encounter with him didn’t exactly go as planned.
Jonas Brothers Reveal Buzz Aldrin Snubbed Them for a Photo
During a recent appearance on Last Meals from Mythical Kitchen, Joe Jonas, 35, opened up about an “awkward” moment they shared with Buzz Aldrin at a Dallas Cowboys football game. Joe recalled trying to get a photo with the 95-year-old space hero, only to be unexpectedly rejected.
“He refused to take a picture with me,” Joe admitted, adding that it was only after someone else nudged Aldrin that he finally posed with the band.
Despite the initial refusal, the astronaut eventually posted the image on his X (formerly Twitter) account, cheekily captioning it: “Apparently they’re hot stuff.” The post took fans by surprise, turning the awkward moment into a lighthearted memory.
New Jersey Hall of Fame Recognition
The Jonas Brothers’ induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame 2024 marks a significant milestone in their career. Raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, the brothers have gone from Disney Channel fame to Grammy-nominated music icons.

Their inclusion puts them in the company of some of the state’s most influential personalities from music, sports, and space exploration.
Reflecting on Their Early Fame
Alongside stories like their Buzz Aldrin meeting, the Jonas Brothers have also opened up about the pressures they faced during their early rise to fame. In past interviews, they revealed being asked uncomfortable questions about their romantic relationships and religious beliefs, particularly in connection with their decision to wear purity rings in their teenage years.
Despite those early challenges, the trio has continued to grow both musically and personally, with solo projects, acting roles, and family life all becoming part of their evolving narrative.
