The actor is set to star in Magazine Dreams, a sports drama that has faced significant delays but is finally moving forward with an official theatrical release. On January 29, Briarcliff Entertainment released the official trailer for the film, which Majors, 35, filmed before his legal troubles became public.
Magazine Dreams follows the story of Killian Maddox, a driven and troubled bodybuilder obsessed with achieving fame in the fitness world. The movie delves into his intense ambition and loneliness, capturing his journey as he works to become a world-famous bodybuilder. His dream is to one day appear on the cover of fitness magazines, but his single-minded pursuit of perfection pushes him toward self-destruction.
The film’s synopsis describes how Killian’s relentless drive isolates him, yet beneath this desire for fame lies a deep yearning for connection. As the story unfolds, viewers are shown the physical and emotional toll his obsession takes on him. Magazine Dreams explores the extreme measures one man is willing to take to gain recognition in an industry that often overlooks him.
The film originally premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, but its release was delayed following Majors’ legal issues. His conviction for misdemeanor assault and harassment charges in connection with an incident involving his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, put the film’s release on hold.

After the trial, Majors was sentenced to attend a domestic violence treatment program, and his role as “Kang the Conqueror” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was rescinded. Despite these setbacks, Magazine Dreams will officially hit theaters on March 21, 2025, bringing Majors back to the spotlight in a deeply complex and emotionally charged role.
