Kanye West has once again stirred controversy by publicly criticizing Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar in a series of fiery social media posts. The rapper, known for his outspoken nature, took to X (formerly Twitter) on May 12 to call out Swift for dancing to Lamar’s hit “Not Like Us” during the 2025 Grammy Awards.
West posted, “I know Kendrick didn’t enjoy Taylor Swift dancing to that A minor line. How is that considered culture?” His comment referenced a lyric from the track and implied disapproval of Swift’s presence and behavior during the live performance.

This isn’t the first time the “Donda” rapper has expressed disdain for the hit song. Back in March, he admitted, “I HAAAAAATED Not Like Us,” continuing a pattern of criticism toward both the track and those associated with it.
Despite a past collaboration between Swift and Lamar on the 2015 remix of “Bad Blood,” Kanye appears to take issue with the pop icon’s support of Lamar’s recent music, framing it as culturally inappropriate.
Earlier in February, West also used Super Bowl Sunday as a platform to take another jab at Swift. As she was seen in the audience supporting her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, West commented on Lamar’s halftime performance, questioning why Swift was prominently featured on broadcasts during a moment he believed should have celebrated Black culture exclusively.
Kanye and Taylor’s feud dates back to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when West famously interrupted her acceptance speech. Although they appeared to patch things up in later years, tensions resurfaced multiple times — particularly over lyrics in Kanye’s 2016 track “Famous,” which Taylor publicly condemned.
The latest remarks underscore Kanye’s ongoing friction with both Swift and certain elements of the music industry, reigniting public debate around celebrity culture, race, and artistic integrity.
As of now, neither Taylor Swift nor Kendrick Lamar has responded to Kanye’s recent statements.
