During a private listening event for his latest album, Vultures, where he shared the space with singer Ty Dolla Sign and a diverse group of friends, Kanye asserted, “We’re not Black! We’re Indian.”
Reported by Metro UK, the artist delved into a thought-provoking rant, asserting that race is a societal construct and proposing that individuals typically identified as Black are, in fact, of Native American descent.
In the intimate gathering, Kanye expounded on his perspective, questioning the prevalence of Native American ancestry among attendees, asking, “How many of y’all grandmas got Indian in your family? What happened to the Indians? Show me Black on the planet.”
The rapper, a father of four, became aware that one of the attendees had ceased recording the conversation. In response, he promptly inquired, “Why did you stop recording?” The woman explained her diminishing phone battery, prompting Kanye to retort, “It’s because you think I sound crazy.”
