Katy Perry’s legal battle over a $15 million Los Angeles mansion is heating up — and now her ex-partner, actor Orlando Bloom, is being pulled into the courtroom drama.
The pop sensation behind hits like Teenage Dream has been embroiled in a high-stakes lawsuit with 84-year-old entrepreneur Carl Westcott. The dispute centers on a 2020 real estate transaction in which Perry, through her business manager Bernie Gudvi, purchased a luxurious estate from Westcott. However, the seller later claimed the sale was not conducted with full mental clarity.
The Heart of the Dispute
According to Westcott, he signed the agreement to sell the property while recovering from back surgery and under the influence of heavy pain medication. Once the effects of the drugs wore off, he allegedly tried to rescind the deal, arguing that he hadn’t been in a sound state of mind during the transaction.

Despite his efforts to back out, Perry’s legal team stood firm, pushing forward with the purchase — a move that led to the ongoing legal showdown.
Orlando Bloom Called to Testify
In a new twist, court documents obtained by Us Weekly reveal that Westcott’s legal team has summoned Orlando Bloom to testify in the case. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor and Perry, who recently ended their relationship, could now face each other in a legal setting.
Perry’s attorneys, however, are opposing the move. They argue that Westcott had ample time during the discovery phase to request depositions from Bloom and others but failed to meet court-imposed deadlines.
In official filings, Perry’s team stated that Westcott’s lawyer “suddenly reappeared” last month requesting five new depositions — including Perry, Bloom, and other key figures — just as the case heads into its next stage. They accused Westcott of engaging in “neglect and gamesmanship,” claiming he had multiple chances to complete these legal steps earlier in the process.
Second Phase of the Trial Begins in August
The second phase of the trial is set to begin on August 21, during which Katy Perry is expected to testify about alleged damages she has faced due to the dispute. Her team argues she is owed compensation for the “loss of use” of the property, which she has been unable to occupy throughout the legal battle.
What’s Next for Perry and Bloom?
Although Perry and Bloom have split, this courtroom encounter places them under public scrutiny once again — but this time, in a much more serious context. While it remains uncertain whether Bloom will ultimately testify, the potential for his courtroom appearance adds even more intrigue to an already dramatic legal saga.
As the case unfolds, all eyes will be on the courtroom this August to see whether Perry can reclaim control of her multimillion-dollar property — and whether Bloom’s testimony could sway the outcome.
