Keke Palmer is turning heads once again — this time in the upcoming Prime Video action-comedy The Pickup, where she stars alongside Pete Davidson and comedy legend Eddie Murphy. The buzzed-about trailer has already grabbed fans’ attention, thanks in part to some steamy scenes between Palmer and Davidson — moments that, according to Palmer, came effortlessly.

Natural Chemistry On and Off Screen

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Palmer opened up about working with Davidson, revealing their chemistry wasn’t just part of the script — it was real.

“I honestly think he and I have chemistry,” she shared. “Look, I don’t know anybody that Pete don’t have chemistry with. I mean, he’s pretty well-liked in the female world.”

Palmer and Davidson aren’t strangers to collaboration. The two previously teamed up for Audible’s Hit Job, where even through voice acting, sparks were noticeable.

“Sometimes you and people just have a vibe,” Palmer explained. “You maybe don’t even talk in everyday life, but when you get on set and you’re working together, there’s that chemistry. And I think he and I had that.”

Behind the Scenes: Comfort, Humor, and Eddie Murphy

Palmer also shared that some of the film’s more intimate scenes were shot early in the filming schedule — right around day two. But she credits Davidson’s kind nature with making those moments easier.

“First of all, he’s so sweet, so it was comfortable even though we were being all naked and stuff like that,” she laughed. “We were just kind of like, ‘Hey, this is exciting. Have you met Eddie yet?’”

Being on set with Eddie Murphy was a surreal moment for both Palmer and Davidson, who each began their careers in their youth. Davidson started doing standup at age 12, and Palmer began acting at just 9 years old.

“We’re in our thirties now and we’re working with Eddie Murphy,” Palmer reflected. “These are the moments we dreamed of. We were just really happy to be there.”

A Film Fueled by Star Power and Heart

With a mix of action, comedy, and undeniable chemistry, The Pickup is shaping up to be more than just another summer release — it’s a career milestone for its rising stars. For fans, it’s a chance to watch the sparks fly on screen between two of entertainment’s most charismatic performers.
