Kim Kardashian is setting the record straight—once again—about a viral rumor that has trailed her for over a decade.
The 44-year-old reality star and business mogul took to Instagram on Saturday, July 13, to respond to resurfaced claims that she once forgot her daughter, North West, at a hotel when she was just a baby.
The incident in question, captured in a now-viral video, shows Kardashian leaving a hotel and walking toward her car without North. Moments later, she is seen reentering the building and returning with her then-one-year-old daughter in her arms. The footage led to widespread speculation that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum had accidentally left her child behind.

However, Kim has now addressed the viral clip head-on. Sharing the video to her Instagram Stories, she captioned it with a clarifying message:
“I wanted to show the look off before holding her bc her outfit didn’t match mine! I didn’t forget her!!!”
This isn’t the first time the SKIMS founder has spoken about the situation. Back in 2014, shortly after the video initially made headlines, Kim took to X (formerly Twitter) to explain that she had returned to the hotel to double-check her car seat setup.
“I went to the car to make sure the car seat was in because the day before we had a car seat issue,” she wrote at the time.
Now a mother of four—North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm—with ex-husband Kanye West, Kim Kardashian continues to be a hands-on mom, often seen supporting her children at sports games, fashion events, and beyond.
As social media continues to recycle old footage and rumors, Kardashian’s latest clarification serves as a reminder that not everything on the internet tells the full story.
