Kim Kardashian may have experienced heartbreak in the public eye, but she’s not ready to give up on love just yet.
The reality star and entrepreneur, who has been married three times, is still holding onto hope when it comes to finding lasting love. A source close to the SKIMS founder revealed to In Touch Weekly that while Kim tries to see her past relationships as valuable life lessons, she can’t help but feel a sense of embarrassment over how things turned out.
“Kim tries to look at her mistakes as lessons, but there’s still a level of shame that comes with having three failed marriages,” the insider said.

Kim’s first marriage was to music producer Damon Thomas when she was just 19. The couple split after three years. Her second marriage, to NBA star Kris Humphries, famously lasted just 72 days following a whirlwind romance and a highly publicized wedding in 2011.
Her most well-known relationship was with rapper Kanye West. The two tied the knot in 2014 and share four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. But after years of Kanye’s unpredictable behavior and several public meltdowns, Kim filed for divorce in February 2021.
According to the insider, the toll of those failed relationships—especially given their public nature—has left a lasting impact. “What hurts most is the fear that she may never find ‘the one,’” the source shared. “That’s all Kim ever wanted growing up—her forever person.”
“And while she genuinely believed in all three of her marriages, it takes real courage to even consider trying again after all that,” the insider added.
The source also noted that her marriage to Kanye left particularly deep scars. “He gave her four beautiful children, but the relationship became a nightmare in the end. She’s still dealing with the aftermath.”
Despite the emotional baggage, Kim hasn’t let go of her belief in love. “She’s a romantic at heart,” said the source. “She still believes in love and commitment. But there’s no denying she has some healing to do.”
Through it all, Kim continues to navigate life with resilience—balancing motherhood, business, and the lingering hope that love will find her once again.
