Princess Diana’s childhood home, Park House, once a symbol of grandeur, has fallen into a state of disrepair, offering a striking contrast to the nearby Sandringham House, which remains in pristine condition under the care of King Charles.
Park House, located on the Royal Family’s Norfolk estate, was the home where Princess Diana was born in 1961. However, recent images have revealed that the property, which was once well-maintained, is now in poor condition. The once-beautiful house is surrounded by overgrown grass, with peeling window paint and stained bricks, leading to concerns about its lack of upkeep.
A local neighbor expressed deep disappointment over the state of the house, lamenting the disregard for the late princess’s legacy. The neighbor stated, “It’s painful to see how the house has been neglected. It’s truly heartbreaking.”

Historically, Park House was donated to the charity Leonard Cheshire, but due to financial challenges exacerbated by the pandemic, the charity returned the property to the estate in May 2021.
Interestingly, Park House is located just 500 meters away from Sandringham House, the stunning 150-room residence where King Charles resides. Sandringham House remains one of the most meticulously cared-for properties within the royal estate. Also, in close proximity is the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, a place where the royal family gathers annually for Christmas Day services.
The condition of Princess Diana’s childhood home has become a subject of public discussion, especially in light of its proximity to the well-kept Sandringham House. The contrast between the two properties highlights the challenges faced in preserving royal estates and the royal family’s connection to their history.
