Kourtney Kardashian isn’t holding back when it comes to sharing how she really felt growing up with Caitlyn Jenner as her stepfather. On a recent episode of Khloé in Wonder Land, the 46-year-old reality star got real about her childhood, revealing that her relationship with Caitlyn was far from easy.
During a heart-to-heart with her sister Khloé Kardashian, the topic of stepparenting came up as they discussed Kourtney’s role in the lives of her husband Travis Barker’s children. Khloé, 40, praised Kourtney’s gentle approach, saying she admired how her sister never tried to replace the kids’ mother or act as the strict parent. She even noted that Caitlyn Jenner had set a good example of this in their own childhood.
But Kourtney had a different memory.

Kourtney’s Candid Take on Caitlyn’s Parenting
“Okay, so, that wasn’t my experience,” Kourtney said, calmly but clearly disagreeing with her sister. She explained that, for her, Caitlyn often acted in a controlling and authoritative manner while married to their mother, Kris Jenner.
“She was bossy and tried to control everything,” Kourtney recalled. “I wasn’t allowed to have certain friends over, and she’d make those decisions without listening.”
One particularly difficult memory Kourtney shared was being denied the chance to speak with her biological father, the late Robert Kardashian Sr. “I’d say, ‘I want to call my dad,’ and she’d hang up the phone,” she revealed. “We would end up in yelling matches.”
Khloé’s Surprise and Kourtney’s Real Reason for Moving Out
Khloé was visibly surprised, admitting she always believed Kourtney’s tension with Caitlyn was due to loyalty to their father. But Kourtney made it clear that it wasn’t just emotional—it was about how she was being treated.
Those experiences, Kourtney explained, ultimately led to her decision to move in with their dad. “That’s why I lived with him,” she said.
A Rare Look at the Kardashian Family’s Past
The emotional exchange between the sisters revealed a side of the Kardashian family that fans rarely see. It showed the complicated layers of blended families, step-parenting, and how different siblings can have vastly different childhood experiences.
While Khloé and Kourtney didn’t always see eye to eye in the conversation, they found understanding through honesty—proving once again that the Kardashian family isn’t afraid to put their most personal truths out there for the world to hear.
