Lamar Odom has responded to Khloe Kardashian’s claim in the documentary Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, addressing one of the most critical moments of his life.
The documentary revisits Odom’s 2015 medical emergency, a near-fatal overdose that left him fighting for his life. Khloe alleged that Lamar’s late father, Joe Odom, suggested removing him from life support.
“Joe just said, ‘Don’t put him on life support, turn those machines off,’” Khloe recalled.
“And I remember walking in around that time, and I kid you not, it was a scene out of a movie. And I was like, ‘Sorry, Joe. I’m still his wife. What do you need?’”
Lamar Odom Responds
Speaking on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on April 6, Lamar rejected this version of events, defending his late father:
“I was knocked out and asleep at that time, but if you know Joe Odom, I don’t think that’s something that would ever come out of his mouth.
He was my biggest fan. I don’t know where that got caught — translated. I just can’t see him ever, ever doing that.”
The former NBA star stressed that his father was always supportive and could not imagine him saying such a thing during the crisis.
Public Reaction
The exchange has reignited discussions among fans about Odom’s near-fatal overdose and the emotional complexities surrounding his family during that time. The documentary provides a rare glimpse into the personal struggles and resilience of the former basketball star.
