Lamar Odom, the former NBA star, has revealed new insights into his near-fatal overdose in 2015, which occurred at a Nevada brothel. In a recent interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, the 45-year-old athlete shared his suspicions that drugs were “slipped into” his drink on that fateful night before he fell unconscious, only to wake up in a hospital days later.
Odom, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers, described the traumatic event, saying, “I don’t know what they were able to slip into my drink or what,” referring to the unclear circumstances surrounding his overdose. “I don’t really remember because I was in a coma,” he added, explaining that the memory of that night was clouded by his extended unconsciousness.
Reflecting on the series of events that led to the incident, Odom spoke about his emotional state at the time, especially in the wake of his split from ex-wife Khloé Kardashian. “I remember being upset that I didn’t have any cocaine to take to the brothel. I had just signed the divorce papers, and I thought I was just gonna go all the way in,” he admitted.
Odom recalled the last thing he remembered before the overdose: “I remember having a drink and then waking up three days later with it all over the news.” The former athlete was left in a serious condition, unable to walk or talk. He said, “When I woke up, I couldn’t walk or talk. So it took, you know, it took some months of rehabilitation and a lot of prayers, a lot of determination.”
The overdose nearly claimed Odom’s life, but after months of hard work and rehabilitation, he made a miraculous recovery. Despite the physical and emotional toll, Odom has managed to rebuild his life, focusing on his health and well-being.
Odom’s story is a testament to his resilience, and his recent appearance in the teaser for the upcoming season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians has generated considerable buzz. In the new trailer, it appears that Odom and Kardashian have moved past their previous differences, leaving fans intrigued about what’s next in their complex relationship.
