Lindsay Lohan has wrapped up production on the upcoming sequel to the 2003 hit comedy Freaky Friday. The actress, best known for her role in Mean Girls, shared the news on her Instagram on Monday, August 19, marking the end of her time on set.

In a heartfelt post, Lohan shared a series of selfies and expressed her gratitude towards the cast and crew who brought the film to life. She reflected on the final week of filming, stating, “It’s our last Monday on the set of #freakierfriday, and my heart is so full. This experience has been incredible, and I’m so thankful for the amazing team at @disneystudios, who have put so much love and effort into making this movie possible.”

The actress also took a moment to appreciate her onscreen mother, Jamie Lee Curtis, who returns for the sequel, praising her for the joy she brought to the set and for treating the film like her own. Lohan didn’t forget to mention the support she received from the film’s director, Nisha Ganatra, and her dedicated hair and makeup team.

The sequel, which revisits the iconic mother-daughter duo, will see Lohan and Curtis reprising their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman. Fans can look forward to the film’s release, which is scheduled for 2025. As Lohan puts it, the film is a celebration of family, packed with love, laughter, and plenty of heart.
