Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) opened up about his devotion to fatherhood after his unexpected early departure from the American Music Awards 2025. Speaking to E! News on the red carpet, the singer revealed that being a dad is his “true calling” in life.
“I was born to be a dad. Yeah, it’s my purpose,” MGK shared candidly. The musician, whose real name is Colson Baker, explained that despite being busy with his upcoming album, he had to leave the AMAs early to care for his daughter, who had developed a slight fever.
MGK talked about his plan to attend the red carpet briefly before heading home to be with his 2-month-old baby and “handle” his “business.” He humorously added, “Give her my pheromones, and let her heal up,” emphasizing his hands-on approach to parenting.
Though his daughter was feeling under the weather, MGK assured fans that she is otherwise “great” and doing well.

At the event, MGK sported a stylish look featuring black trousers, a vest layered over a white button-down shirt, paired with Converse sneakers and a pearl necklace, showcasing his signature edgy style.
For those unfamiliar, MGK and actress Megan Fox began their relationship in 2020 while filming Midnight in the Switchgrass. The couple got engaged in January 2022 and have shared a public journey filled with both challenges and devotion over the years.
With fatherhood clearly taking center stage in his life, MGK continues to balance his music career with his role as a dedicated dad.
