Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow are putting feud rumors to rest as they embrace a budding friendship.
During the Mindvalley Manifesting Summit on May 17, Gwyneth Paltrow spoke with People magazine and offered insight into her relationship with the Duchess of Sussex. The Goop founder clarified that although they haven’t spent much time together in person, their friendship is building through regular texting.
“We’ve developed a text friendship. I’ve just been traveling a lot lately,” Paltrow explained.
The lifestyle mogul also addressed ongoing speculation about tension between them. “I don’t appreciate when people pit women against each other,” she said, reiterating her long-standing view that women should uplift—not compete with—one another.
Back in March, Paltrow told Vanity Fair, “Another woman is never your competition. Everyone should have the chance to pursue what they love.”
When asked about possibly appearing on Meghan Markle’s upcoming Netflix series With Love, Meghan, Paltrow didn’t rule it out. “Why not? You never know. I’m not the best baker, but I’d give it a shot,” she said with a laugh.
Earlier this year, the pair even playfully dismissed feud rumors in a surprise Instagram Q&A, where Meghan made an unexpected cameo.
Both women call Montecito home, and Paltrow believes the serene California setting is helping their friendship flourish. “There’s a peaceful energy here—beautiful nature, calm surroundings—it’s the perfect place to connect,” she added.
With their shared values and relaxed approach to life, it seems Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow are proving that powerful women can support each other, not compete.
