Meghan Markle and Prince Harry presented a united front as they attended the opening ceremony of the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada. The couple shared a heartfelt moment, exchanging a kiss before Harry took the stage to deliver an inspiring speech.

Held at BC Place in Vancouver on February 8, the ceremony featured emotional tributes to athletes and performances from renowned artists, including Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado, Chris Martin of Coldplay, and Noah Kahan.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s appearance reaffirms their ongoing commitment to charitable causes, particularly the Invictus Games, which Harry founded in 2014 to support wounded servicemen and women. Meghan, 43, has frequently voiced her admiration for the event and its participants, and this year was no exception.

At a welcome reception on February 7, she gave an unscripted speech expressing her excitement about returning to Canada and praising her husband’s dedication to the Games. “You will see him throughout this week,” Meghan told attendees. “You will see him at the games, probably curling with you and cheering you on at wheelchair basketball.”

She went on to highlight Harry’s deep personal investment in the event, stating, “It means so much to him. You are his family, just as we are his family. And I hope you recognize how much of his heart he has poured into every single beat that has gotten all of you to this week that is going to be spectacular.”

Introducing her husband to the stage, Meghan added, “It is my entire pleasure and complete honor to introduce my husband, the father of our very sweet, excited children who are cheering you on from California—Prince Harry, founder of the Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex.”

This event marks the couple’s first official joint appearance since their tour of Colombia in August. In January, they were also seen visiting World Central Kitchen in Pasadena, California, where they helped distribute food and supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire.

Meghan’s presence at the Invictus Games highlights that while she has independent projects in the works, she and Harry remain closely aligned both personally and professionally.

An onlooker at the event told PEOPLE, “There’s a lot of speculation about their marriage, but this proves one thing—there is no separation. They clearly stand together when it comes to causes they both care about.”

In December, Harry dismissed ongoing rumors about their relationship, calling them baseless. “Apparently, we’ve moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?” he joked, adding that he doesn’t pay attention to the gossip and even feels sympathy for those who spread false narratives.

The Invictus Games hold a special place in Harry and Meghan’s relationship, as it was where they made their public debut as a couple during the 2017 games in Toronto. At the time, Meghan was filming Suits in the city, and the pair confirmed their romance by holding hands at a wheelchair tennis match.

With their latest appearance, the couple continues to demonstrate their unwavering support for one another, both in their philanthropic efforts and their personal lives.
