According to The Sun, the Duchess of Sussex has joined the cast of Close Personal Friends, an upcoming film featuring Jack Quaid, Lily Collins, and Brie Larson. Markle is said to be playing herself in the project, which follows two couples — one famous and one not. She was recently spotted on set in Pasadena, Los Angeles.
A production insider described this move as “a massive moment” for Markle, explaining that it “signifies a return to doing what she truly loves.” They added that while the former actress has received many offers, this project felt like the perfect fit, allowing her to ease back into life on set.
Everyone involved is reportedly thrilled to have her on board — though her appearance has been kept quiet to maintain secrecy around the film.
Prince Harry Supports Meghan’s Hollywood Return
Prince Harry is said to be fully supportive of his wife’s return to acting. The insider shared, “Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”

When Did Meghan Markle Leave Hollywood?
Markle officially stepped away from acting in 2017 after her engagement to Prince Harry. At the time, she described it as “the start of a new chapter” and said she was proud of her work on the hit legal drama Suits.
Her final appearance aired during the Season 7 finale in April 2018, just one month before her royal wedding. USA Network praised her commitment to the show and wished her the best in her new journey.
