Millie Bobby Brown is choosing peace, privacy, and purpose as she begins a new chapter of her life in Georgia, the state she’s called home since her Stranger Things journey began.
The 21-year-old actress first settled in Georgia after being cast as Eleven on the hit Netflix series at just ten years old. With the show filmed largely around Atlanta, the area quickly became central to her upbringing and career.
Now, as the sci-fi phenomenon prepares to wrap up after its fifth and final season, Brown reflected on her deep connection to the state in a candid new British Vogue interview.
“For me, this is my home”
“I grew up here, you know? This is the longest place I’ve been consecutively in my life because of Stranger Things. For me, this is my home,” Brown told the publication.
The actress, who married Jake Bongiovi in May 2024, explained that she and her husband have chosen to remain in Georgia — a decision rooted in her desire for a simpler, more grounded lifestyle.
A grounded life beyond Hollywood
Born in Spain, raised in England, and later moving to the United States, Brown credits her parents for keeping her grounded throughout her early fame.
“They didn’t want my childhood shaped by Hollywood,” she recalled. Despite her love for acting, Brown emphasized that she doesn’t want her career to “define” her, adding that it’s essential to have “a sense of purpose within your own personal life.”
That sense of purpose has guided her toward a new passion — animals. Brown revealed she’s taking online veterinary technician courses at Purdue University, a pursuit inspired by life on her farm.

The couple now lives on a farm outside Atlanta, where Brown enjoys a quiet life surrounded by close friends and animals. In August, she and Bongiovi welcomed a baby girl through adoption, sharing the joyful news on Instagram.
