The trailer of one of the last films of Angus Cloud, Your Lucky Day, was released on Friday, months after the Euphoria star’s death at age 25.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the project is a thriller that features Cloud as a hostage taker named Sterling, who sees an older man winning a lottery ticket at a convenience store.
The trailer of the Daniel Brown-directed film shows a preview of how the circumstances shift deadly after he retains the man at gunpoint to get the ticket and encounters a shoot-out with an officer who was at the store.
According to a synopsis for the film, “The witnesses must decide exactly how far they’ll go—and how much blood they’re willing to spill—for a cut of the $156 million.”
Elliot Knight, Sterling Beaumon, Mousa Hussein Kraish, and Jessica Garza, Cloud’s costars, recalled Cloud as a “beam of light” while conversing with Entertainment Weekly.
She said, “He was not only an incredible actor, but he was an even better human. He was kind and humble and thoughtful and so deeply sincere. I am so grateful and honored I had the chance to share a screen with him and [get] to know him.”
“Your Lucky Day” honors Cloud with a message that reads “For Angus” at the end of the film.
Brown told Entertainment Weekly that his wife proposed to Cloud for the lead role in Your Lucky Day after she watched Euphoria. Cloud was also one of the first actors to express interest in the leading role.
He said, “I had written the character based on people I had grown up with: guys who sold drugs and would start fights with frat boys or their stepdads, but who were also super protective and loyal to their friends. [Cloud’s] stories and outlook were so right on for the character, I just had to go for it.”
He added, “As with all things Angus, what I remember was his kindness and enthusiasm for others. He was one of one.”
The death of Cloud was confirmed in a statement shared by his family in which they recalled him as an “artist, a friend, a brother, and a son.”
